Because your friends and family can’t live on without seeing weekly updates on your stubbed toe and many miles you ran in a month. Because life as we know it can’t go on without you posting an inspirational quote from Gandhi, Mother Theresa, or Oprah, or your amazing sandwich, ‘cuz hey it’s a sandwich unlike any other sandwich, but also exactly like the sandwich you had yesterday. Because even in death, you can inundate your Facebook and Twitter feeds with proof of you…living your life?

Yep, there’s an app for that. It’s called “LivesOn” and the app’s tagline is “When your heart stops beating, you’ll keep tweeting.”

The app doesn’t only Tweet or update Facebook after you die, but it mimics your personality. The app launches in March and is unlike any other app before it because past apps have only allowed you to schedule your social media into the future.

One creator says it’s better than being cryogenically frozen. A psychotherapist says it’s PSYCHO. We can’t decide. It’s messed up, yes, but how is it different from writing a memoir, a book, or a leaving a piece of art that will remind everyone that you existed.

It’s the wave of the future, even if the future is one creepy, weird place.
