Someone somewhere in Oregon is a real jerk. Two Girl Scout troops thought they had made the sale of a lifetime when a local company ordered 6000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies worth about $24,000. In all, 500 cases of cookies were delivered to the troops.
Things turned ugly, however, when the Girl Scouts contacted the company regarding payment. According to Yahoo.com, the company had “no idea what’s going on.” In other words, the Girl Scouts had the old “order a pizza and have it delivered to some random person’s house” prank pulled on them.
Unfortunately, there’s a whole lot more at stake than just a pizza no one wants. Since the cookies were already delivered to the scouts, they were now in the hole for the entire $24 thousand. Money, by the way, that was to be used for their summer camp and to help a homeless shelter.
But the Girl Scouts, though disappointed, were determined to keep their spirits up and get their money back. They had an emergency sale at the Portland Girl Scouts headquarters where hundreds of supporters, after hearing about the “joke,” showed up and bought about $12,000 worth of cookies. A second sale is planned for March 23.
The identity of the prankster has yet to be discovered. All we do know is that he/she is a massive a**hole.
