You thought your term paper was important? Think again. Terry Bennett is going to jail for 12 months if he doesn’t turn in his 5,000 word essay on time.

A little back story. Bennett, 32, from Gloucestershire, UK, is a drug dealer. He was convicted of carrying more than 2 pounds of cannabis with intent to sell. Bennett also liked to snowboard but sustained an injury while boarding that has since limited him physically.

So where does the essay fit in?

After his conviction, Bennett was sentenced to 240 hours of community service. His snowboarding injury, however, made that impossible. So Judge Julian Lambert went all high school on Bennett and came up with an alternate sentence; a lot more sentences, to be exact. Bennett was ordered to write a 5,000 word essay on why drugs are dangerous and how they affect society, according to the Huffington Post.

And the kicker: if Bennett doesn’t finish his essay by April 4th, he’s going to jail for 12 months, which would be like a bummer, man.

We imagine his essay sounding something like this
