Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. Especially if you’re a porn producer who wants to circumvent Los Angeles’ laws about condom-required porn by moving just a teensy bit north to the fair 65,000 person city of Camarillo, California in Ventura County.

When they realized that a  bunch of adult entertainment companies were doing just that, Camarillo declared a 45-day moratorium on adult film production so they could figure out how they wanted to handle their new, ummm, economy boosters.

“What we think may be happening is maybe as a result of safe-sex and adult-film ordinances in L.A. County and the city of L.A., some of the productions are perhaps looking for new film territory, and we’re not that far away,” said Assistant City Atty. Don Davis to the Los Angeles Times.

“We haven’t had a history of adult films in the city, so it’s a new issue,” said Davis. “We’re looking at what other people have done to decide how we’re going to address this.”
