Our friends up north got lucky when they snagged monster music act Metallica to throw out the first pitch and bring some metal mayhem to the National Anthem at the first ever Metallica Night at AT&T Park this Friday, May 3, 2013.
The game will be an epic battle between Northern California and Southern California; the World-Series champs the San Francisco Giants will be playing the Los Angeles Dodgers. An insane sports turf war might ensue but at least there will be an amazing soundtrack.
Adding to the background noise, the MLB made a video with Giants pitcher Barry Zito jamming out with the band, a favorite since childhood. Zito does pretty well on the axe, owing his talent to his musical family; his father was a conductor for Nat King Cole and his mother was in a singing group put together by the famous crooner.
Metallica recently announced the line-up for their Orion Music Festival. Tickets go on sale May 3rd at 10am–the same day as their Metallica Night.
