Are we extremely lucky to be living in Southern California, or does it just suck to live in the Pacific Northwest? Maybe it’s a little of both.
Yahoo.com reports that Bellingham Christian School, located in Bellingham, Washington, near Seattle, canceled classes Friday because the sun was out. “SCHOOL CANCELLED DUE TO GREAT WEATHER! WAHOOO!” the school website posted.
You read that right. Apparently a sunny day is so rare in Washington that when the sun does shine, schools get closed. Says Principal Bob Sampson, “In a world that’s got a lot hard things going, it’s fun to create a moment of joy.”
And this isn’t the first time school has been closed due to nice weather. Two years ago there was another sunny day that prompted a closure. To that we say,”Move to LA, where it’s 75/365.” No reports as of yet if any pasty, pale white children have been sunburned.
