According to guitarist Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, Guns N’ Roses haven’t started recording new music just yet. Last year, the band played in Las Vegas and Axl Rose had waxed on about the band’s great comeback, saying that they “recorded a lot of songs over the years.”
But Thal says that’s not necessarily true. “We just have little things on the back burner, just waiting for the right time for us to organise and make something new out of it,” confessed the guitarist to Rolling Stone via NME. “Hopefully we can make more music – that’s what it’s about.”
“It’s what the fans want, too. They want new music, and we can do it… Let’s keep our fingers crossed that life will not get in the way and we can get this last batch of shows done. Looking forward to it, but I’m also looking forward to having the main priority of our Guns time be making new music.”
So when can fans see new music from the band? Probably not until 2014, although keep in mind it took 15 years and $13 million dollars to create 2008’s Chinese Democracy.
