Recently, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora dropped out of their world tour citing “personal issues.” There was speculation and no specific details, although Sambora’s stints in rehab, including in 2011, churned the rumor mill.
Understandably though, Sambora wanted to go out quietly and he recently told the Daily Mail (via Classic Rock Magazine) that Bon Jovi’s big mouth isn’t helping any.
“My opinion is Jon wants to see if he can pull off stadiums by himself,” said Sambora. “He’s making it very difficult for me to come back.”
Later Sambora added that Bon Jovi just needs to shut up and leave Sambora’s private life be. “Enough with the trash-talking – Jon needs to stop talking about me publicly. I am fine, working very hard on my fashion company, and this is a private matter. I don’t have any major problems in my life right now.
“I love my fans and I feel bad from them at the moment. They’ve paid money to see Bon Jovi, and, right now, they’re not getting the whole deal.”
In another recent bout of Bon Jovi trash-talking, the apparently candid frontman basically called Justin Bieber an “a**hole” for showing up late to a concert.
