Freddie Mercury, frontman of Queen, may have died from AIDS complications in November of  1991, but his memory has lived on as clear and rich as his one-of-a-kind voice.

In 1992, friends and other musicians like Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, David Bowie, and more participated in the The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert with the surviving members of Queen.

The tribute will now be released on a 3-disc DVD set and the profits will help global AIDS charities and causes. It’s out on September 2nd–three days before the anniversary of his birthday.
