LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — The days of amplified music on ice cream trucks that attract children seeking a cool, creamy treat may be over in the city of Long Beach.
Councilman Dee Andrews Tuesday is expected to ask his colleagues to back his ban on the loud music that is synonymous with the trucks.
Andrews wants the city attorney to draft an ordinance requiring ice cream truck operators to comply with the city’s noise ordinance and prevent the playing of any music when trucks are parked and the operator is selling ice cream.
“We want to promote peace and quiet in our neighborhoods,” Andrews told KNX 1070.
