Led Zeppelin‘s John Bonham is renowned for his drumming skills and after his untimely death at 32-years-old from alcoholic asphyxiation, it was hard to imagine anyone filling in for him. However, his son Jason Bonham became a pretty notable drummer and has even played for the Led Zeppelin Experience with images of his father behind him.
But that’s not enough. The iconic drummer’s son says he wants to follow in the footsteps of Queen and Tupac by making his father into a hologram. He told Legendary Rock Interviews that “it’s imperative that I continue putting together the best shows and take it to the next level. I’m talking to people about holograms, and my dream is to do a drum solo with Dad next to me. That’s my goal, my dream.”
However, he says that it won’t be easy because there isn’t a lot of video from the 1970s. “Back in those days, if you had a camera that could record video, you were well off,” explained Jason. “To edit, work with it, process it and release it was a whole other matter. I’m trying to work with the limited footage I have, to put it together in a way that works and is purposeful.”
