The AmericanaramA tour, featuring Bob Dylan, Wilco and My Morning Jacket has been a dream tour for fans of, well Americana. But before Monday night’s show (July 15), Dylan hadn’t actually performed with his openers. That changed when Wilco’s frontman Jeff Tweedy and My Morning Jacket’s frontman Jim James joined him for the traditional gospel song “Twelve Gates to the City,” and then again for for the encore – “Blowin’ in the Wind”. Video of the legendary performance can be seen here.
Fan page Bob Links had all good reviews of the performance and hinted that poor reviews given by the media were not accurate and were surprised by the comments made.
Ben Rayner of thestar.com commented on the concert by saying, “The weak link? It might have been Bob Dylan.” Fans of Dylan took to the comment section by saying they feel Rayner is not familiar with Dylan and doesn’t have the experience to criticize the man.
Dylan’s “AmericanaramA” tour continues until August with the next stop in Darien Center, New York on Friday, July 18th. For more information about the tour check out Dylan’s website for tour dates and stops.
