Los Angeles’ iconic forum, open since 1967, has been under construction since a $100  million dollar plan by new owners, Madison Square Garden Co., was announced to refurbish the arena. Now the giant venue is ready to re-open and who better to pop that sonic cherry than “Hotel California” tune makers, the Eagles.

The band will be be performing three shows at the beginning of 2014: January 15,17, and 18. This won’t be the first time the Eagles have played the arena. They’ve also played in ’75, ’76, and ’79, which for those doing math in your head, is a freaking long time ago.

According to Henne Music, the Forum will be “the largest venue in the U.S. built specifically for music and live entertainment. That means no luxury suites, no scoreboards or setting up while they get rid of the ice rink from the hockey game the night before — and it’s still cold when the band takes the stage.”

We’re looking forward to that hot and steamy show.
