Music Industry Exec Behind Queen & The Eagles Remains In Critical Condition Following Machete Attack
WOODLAND HILLS (CBSLA.com) — A music industry veteran remained in critical condition Monday after he and his girlfriend were attacked with a machete over the weekend in the San Fernando Valley.
Jerry Sharell and his new girlfriend were attacked around 8 a.m. Sunday in the 4700 block of Nomad Drive in Woodland Hills, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
According to officials, Sharell and the woman were held hostage for several hours by her ex-husband, 57-year-old Behnam Vasseghi, after he arrived at the couple’s home with a machete, scalpel and flowers.
Vasseghi allegedly attacked Sharell first and then stabbed himself, according to police.
“He asked his ex-wife to watch as he killed himself,” Sgt. Jeff Nuttall said.
