He might be the real Slim Shady, but you can totally imitate him…for a price. But not much of one. The childhood home of Marshall Mathers a/k/a Eminem is for sale.
The only caveat? It’s in Detroit. OK, that’s a huge one.
According to Consequence of Sound (via the Detroit News), the single-family home that was featured on the cover of 2000’s The Marshall Mathers album is for sale in the Greensbriar nabe, right near the Eight Mile Road.
The 1945-era house is tiny at only 747-square-feet and is in pretty crappy condition.
Land’s Bank auction is putting the house up for bid and although Zillow says the house is worth like $32 thousand, the auction will start for $1.
“In a case like this, if the property is blighted, or the whole neighborhood is blighted, it would be unusual to get a buyer,” said Michigan Land Bank Executive Director Kim Homan to USA Today. “Nobody knew it was Eminem’s home, either.”
Eminem’s mom owned the house from 1989 to 2003. It was purchased in 2009 for $1.
