LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Street closures will be in place Sunday due to the Department of Transportation’s Herbalife Triathlon.
The swimming segment of the event kicks off at Venice Beach at 6:50 a.m. and will be followed by the bike course, which will shut down Venice Boulevard from the beach to Interstate 10, Fairfax from the 10 to Olympic, and Olympic from Fairfax to Staples Center.

The DOT is reminding motorists and pedestrians that there will be no crossing points on this year’s course.
“The Department of Transportation will be aggressively enforcing all temporary parking restrictions for this event to secure the safety of the participants and to facilitate the movement of traffic around road closures,” the agency said in a statement.
