“Breaking Bad” Becoming Spanish-Language Show Featuring Walter Blanco
We’re not sure if some geniuses are just messing with us, or whether this is real, but apparently the Hollywood Reporter (via LAist) is reporting that there will be a Spanish-language version of Breaking Bad entitled Metastasis.
Breaking Bad is now over, but Walter White will allegedly reappear on television as Walter Blanco. The story will be set in the drug-adled Colombia with Diego Trujillo playing Walter Blanco. According to reports, the storyline will be pretty much the same including a wife named Cielo a/k/a Skyler and an ex-student named Jose a/k/a Jesse.
“Breaking Bad is a fantastic series that wasn’t widely seen in Latin America, partly because cable doesn’t yet have full penetration in the region,” Angelica Guerra, Senior VP and Managing Director of Production for Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market,” says the Hollywood Reporter. “[But] there is a universality to the story and its characters that we recognized could work very well.”
One of the things that won’t stay the same? The motor home meth lab.
“Motor homes are not popular in Colombia,” says Hollywood Reporter, “so audiences will see Walter and Jose cooking up their first several batches of methamphetamine in an old, barely drivable school bus.”
The Bustache is available for bit parts, cameos, and, basically anything, really. And it has a sweet ‘stache–just like Walter Blanco.
