LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — To alleviate major parking problems, the Dodgers announced Wednesday that fans who arrive to the stadium by car with four or more passengers can park for free for the remainder of the team’s postseason run.

The announcement followed problems reported by fans who said they were turned away at the gate Monday night because the lot was full.

“We know we had a parking issue during our recent National League Division Series win against Atlanta,” said Renata Simril, the team’s senior vice president for external affairs. “We parked more than 20,000 cars and several hundred fans were unable to park at Dodger Stadium last Monday night.”

Simril added, “We reached our capacity and some fans without parking passes were directed off-site. We were very sorry about inconveniencing these fans and felt we needed to do something to address this problem.”
