Black Sabbath has a maze at Halloween Horror Nights, Ozzy Osbourne is just sort of generally frightening, and Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett is hosting his first horror convertion called will Kirk von Hammett’s Fear FestEvil. The festival will take place next February in San Francisco over three days.
Running from February 6 through 8, the convention will feature live music, vendors, panels you can geek out at, signings for the uber-fans/nerds/special guests like make-up FX artist Greg Nicotera from The Walking Dead and Tom Savini from Dawn of the Dead and something called Kirk’s Crypt which he had at the Orion Music + More festival for the last two years.
Hammett has a book about horror moves out and explained how his love of horror movies started: “Five years old; I sprained my arm so I couldn’t go out and play. I was sequestered inside because I had to recover from my arm. Turned on the television; the first horror movie I’ve ever seen was on that night – ‘The Day Of The Triffids.’ I saw that movie and, from that point on, I was just hooked… those are the type of movies I gravitated to.”
