A sprinkle of international alternative rock, seasoned metal, and grown-up pop-punk all smooshed together into one savory dish. It’s kind of like if U2, Metallica, and Green Day randomly decided to tour together. But that would never happen, right? Wrong. According to MTV News, the dudes have been discussing that rock ‘n roll joining of forces since U2 approached Metallica two years. ago.
“U2 came to San Francisco two summers ago and we ended up having a lot to drink with them and Green Day following a dinner,” said Lars Ulrich. “I was told in the wee morning hours following this outing that members of U2, Green Day and Metallica agreed to tour together. We haven’t talked about it since, but speaking for myself I’d be very up for that.” Never say never.
Fittingly, Metallica is currently promoting their 3D concert movie Through The Never. There’s always a chance, right?
