Dr. Cranfill’s NFL Week 8 Picks-N-Giggles
I’ve been woefully underwhelming at picking games this year and yes, the definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over and over again and expecting different results but HEY, I’m trying. Which is more than I can say for Congress. With that being said, here are my NFL Week 8 Picks-n-Giggles.
San Francisco 49ers (-16) vs Jacksonville Jaguars– 10:00am PST live from London on FOX
This will be the 2nd game played in England of the 2013 NFL season and boy are we sending them our best. An 0-7 Jacksonville Jaguars team traversing the Atlantic only to be sacrificed at the altar of international revenue vs a very stout San Francisco team. Sad really but it’ll still be more entertaining than soccer or cricket or whatever tea-bagging games the Brits are playing these days. But unlike the Revolutionary War at least these Limey’s will get to see the guys in red actually win one. Take the 9ers to cover even that monstrous 16 point spread. Final? SF 31- Jax 6.
Seattle Seahawks (-11) vs St. Louis Rams– MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL@ 5:40pm PST on ESPN
This 11 point spread on Monday Night Football is just one of numerous double digit spreads in Week 8 and for this game, rightfully so. The Seahawks may be the best team in football while the Rams were garbage BEFORE they lost quarterback Sam Bradford vs the Panthers last week to a torn ACL. Now, I’ve seen a bird of prey take down a deer, but I can’t say I’ve seen one take down a full grown Rams team. But I will. Come Monday. Take Seattle to cover that 11 points, 26-10.
