Billy Idol & Other Punk Rock Veterans Play Suprise-Ish Show In Echo Park Parking Lot

With a rebel yell, they cried more, more, more. And the punk rock denizens of Los Angeles got it. Echo Park is known for housing some of the old-school punk rock clubs of Los Angeles. Before it started to get hipster-ized, it was where all the poor kids moved so that they could party and live at the same time.

Many streets have been christened with some sort of punk rock fairytale, but graffiti artist Shepard Fairey took it all to another level by hosting British bad boys Billy Idol, Steve Jones from The Sex Pistols, Leigh Gorman from Bow Wow Wow, and Clem Burke from Blondie (and more.)

No one (well, a lot of people) didn’t know that the band was going to play because they were billed under the moniker, “Ritchie Love.” Someone in the crowd got a blurry vid of Idol performing his hit “Dancing With Myself.”
