Scientists Prove Fist Bumping Is Better For Your Health

Fist bumping, bro, that’s how we roll here at JACK FM. But did you know that this ultimate sign of camaraderie may actually be better for your health than the traditional handshake? It’s true, which is why we’re here to spread the gospel of the fist bump.

Check out: in a study published in the Journal of Hospital Infection, researchers found that the almighty fist bump actually reduces the spread of bacteria by a factor of four, compared to the traditional lame handshake, reports.

The main reason? “The one thing about fist-bumping is that it’s not the usable surface of your hand,” says W. Thomas McCellan, a plastic and hand surgeon who conducted the study. “Fist-bumping protects that usable surface.”

McCellan warns, however, that you still need to wash your hands. The fist bump is powerful, bro, but you have to limit your exposure to germs through proper sanitation.

Fist bumping, not just a lifestyle choice, but scientifically proven to be better for your health. That’s what we’re talking about.
