It’s been a celebration of classic rock this week on The Tonight Show, and it continued with a visit from surviving Nirvana members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic Wednesday night (April 9).
The duo, who will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame tonight (April 10) as part of Nirvana, first appeared to introduce Stevie Nicks as she sang her Tom Petty collaboration “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around.” Was Petty there? Nah. But since it’s Jimmy Fallon’s show, he was on hand as a formidable replacement, donning a blonde wig and a black guitar while doing his best impression of the lead Heartbreaker for the performance, which was naturally shot through a vintage filter for the broadcast.
Once Grohl and Novoselic sat down to discuss the whirlwind week they’ve been having, no time was wasted mentioning their fallen frontman, Kurt Cobain.
