It’s the most important part of any flight and it can save your life, but very few people ever pay attention.  It comes in the form of a video or live presentation.

But one Southwest Airlines flight attendant for once got an entire plane to listen and pay attention to the flight’s safety instructions before take-off.

Flight attendant Martha “Marty” Cobb told the passengers on the Salt Lake City-bound flight “Can I pretend to have your attention for just a few moments?  My ex-husband, my new boyfriend and their divorce attorney are going to show you the safety features of this 737-800,” which was followed by laughter.

She also told passengers how to fasten their seat belts which is to “tightly fasten your seat belts across your hips like my grandmother wears her support bra.”

She ended it with “That’s what we call very cheap entertainment and nobody had to pay extra. But you certainly don’t get a refund.”

And you almost never hear applause and whistling at the end of an airline safety demonstration.
