Imagine if you became famous and every person you kinda-sorta knew from growing up weighed in on your music and your life via national television?

That’s what happens in this interview from 1992 with Nirvana fans after they played an homecoming show in Seattle around the same time as Nevermind. Kurt Cobain‘s mom was thre and she said prophetically, “I’m glad he made enough of a success to make a living, but some of it is too much for him, I think.” There’s also the cousins of Cobain and Krist Novoselic.

“It’s pretty strange to see them on TV, since we rode big wheels with them,” said Kurt’s cousin. “Yeah, we rode Big Wheels with Kurt,” said Krist’s cousin.

Not everyone was all about the band.

“There’s a lot more up-and-coming bands to really be looking out for definitely,” says one very opinionated girl. “Hippie Big Buckle.” Hmm, let’s see what Hippie Big Buckle has under their, ummm, belt.

Dramatic pause.

Not shockingly, absolutely nothing comes up except for this stranger article about the Worst Band Names.
