NYC Mayor Sings “I Love LA” On ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’

By Nadia Noir

When it comes to East Coast/West Coast rivalry, all bets are off on which coast is actually the coast with the most. Except if you’re the Mayor of Los Angeles and you bet the Mayor of New York to sing “I Love LA” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Then, all bets are totally on and you better deliver.

Mayor Eric Garcetti had a beet that if the Rangers won the Stanley Cup, Garcetti would sing “New York, New York” while if the opposite happened (which it did: GO KINGS GO!), Mayor Bill de Blasio had to wear a shirt that said I❤ LA and sing Randy Newman’s “I Love L.A.” De Blasion did that and more; he brought in the kid sof New York  City’s 52nd Street Project chorus.

De Blasio wasn’t going to let his town go down without a fight, though. The Mayor brought in Gray’s Papaya hot dogs for the audience. Garcetti, however, stuck to his roots by eating a Pink’s hot dog from a special L.A. Kings lunchbox.
