Angels Fans To Set World Record For Wearing Santa Hats

ANAHEIM ( — It’s not even July, but Anaheim Stadium will feel more like the North Pole Wednesday night – and it’s all about making history.

Fans of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim will attempt to break the Guiness World Record for the largest gathering of people wearing Santa hats during tonight’s game against the Minnesota Twins.

As part of the team’s “1/2 Way to Christmas” celebration exactly six months before the holiday season, fans at the start of the fifth inning will be asked to wear for five consecutive minutes the Angels Santa hats they will have received on entering the stadium.

After the five minutes have elapsed, a Guinness World Records adjudicator will officially certify the new record, which is expected to shatter the previous record of 872 people.
