For those of us that missed the “crazy train” to musical stardom, “don’t stop believin'” that you, yes you, have what it takes to be a karaoke champion.
Los Angeles is starting it’s first-ever karaoke league says LAist.
For those of you who have tired of team trivia and your Monday night bowling league, L.A. now has competitive karaoke. The league, called simply L.A. Karaoke, will run for 10-weeks on Monday nights in Santa Monica at TRiP. Karaoke competitors are encouraged to BYOF (Bring Your Own Friend), but if you don’t have anyone as awesome as you in your friend arsenal you can come into the game as a free agent and they’ll put you with another “independent woman” (or man).
In an interview with LAist, marketing and Communications Manager Christin Flint talks about the “go hard or go home” mentality that her team had to make the finals—including costumes, props, and other attention-grabbing paraphernalia within the rules. “It’s just however creative people want to get with the particular song or theme,” said Flint to LAist.
