The Chargers Are Coming To LA? Not So Fast…

UPDATE (3:42 pm): Initial reports from the San Diego Tribune claimed an agreement had been reached in principal for the Chargers to join the Rams in Inglewood. In the hour since the story broke, Chargers owner Dean Spanos issued a statement that the Chargers will remain in San Diego through the 2016 season with the hopes of working out a long term deal.

Reports are coming in that the Chargers have reached an agreement to join the Rams in Inglewood. After two decades of an NFL drought, Los Angeles will now have two football teams!

The Chargers already submitted plans yesterday (Thursday, January 28th) to build a practice facility in Santa Ana, even though they claimed that “the franchise is continuing to review all of its options, and no final decision on relocation has been made.”

However, The San Diego Tribune is reporting that the Rams and the Chargers have reached a deal to share the new Inglewood stadium, bringing LA’s football team count from zero to two in less than a month. It is now only a question of when the Chargers will make the big move.

With that, the Oakland Raiders are now out of the LA race. Both the Chargers and the Raiders had one year to decide whether they would be coming to Los Angeles, with the Chargers getting first priority.

The big question now is, which team will you root for?
