Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, it’s time for the rest of the holiday cheer! Which means lots and lots of lights and trees, especially at the Festival of Lights in Riverside!
For the past 24 years, downtown Riverside has been overtaken by 4.5 million lights, 400 animatronics and tons of carolers and sweet treats during the holiday season.
Want to get there but don’t feel like driving? Metrolink is offering a $7 roundtrip fare from Union Station on the Riverside Line or the 91/Perris Valley line. If you have anyone under 18 years old with you, they’ll be free.
The festival is outside and inside of the Mission Inn. So if you choose to stay at the hotel, they’re serving 12 “Days of Christmas” cocktails, a brunch with Santa Claus, and even have elves who will hand out stockings to children and help end the night by reading them a bedtime story.
The Festival of Lights is up until the first week of the new year, but if you want to take advantage of the cheap train ride, you have until December 17th.
