Taylor Hawkins Says there will be Another Foo Fighters Album

By Tim Staskiewicz

We know that the Foo Fighters are ending their touring hiatus this coming summer after the band announced a handful of European dates beginning in June of next year.

A number of burning questions remain: how many more dates will they add, where will they be, and will a new album accompany the Foos in 2017?

Drummer Taylor Hawkins says there will be a new record “at some point,” in a new interview, but says the timing all hinges on Dave Grohl.

“We won’t really be ready until Dave’s ready to go. It’s on the books, so we’ll definitely be playing,” Hawkins told NME. “We never really know, we just wait for a text from Dave saying ‘Hey, let’s go down to the studio.’”

Both Taylor and Dave have reportedly been working on solo projects in their spare time. Hawkins just recently released his new mini LP, KOTA, and Grohl is said to be writing some new songs, not necessarily for the Foo Fighters, according to producer Bruce Vig.

While the band hasn’t gotten serious about a ninth studio album just yet, Hawkins says fans shouldn’t be worried.

“We’re fine, we love each other we’re all good,” he said to NME. “We’re just figuring out when the world’s ready for more Foo Fighters, we’re a family.”
