With bands of a certain stature, the announcement of the announcement has become a part of the tradition. So, the Foo Fighters posting on Facebook that Monday will see big news is just part of the game.
A new Foo Fighters album grows ever closer, accompanied by an HBO series in October — and according to Dave Grohl, it’ll be a nice alternative to the singing competitions of today.
“We’re doing things that we’ve never done before. And I want to say that it’s only eight songs but I think it might be our longest record because, as I was writing these songs, I had to take a cinematic approach,” Dave Grohl said.
Dave Grohl is coming to your TV set again, this time with his own show.
Grohl’s first reaction to hearing ‘Superunknown’? “Holy s–t! This is gonna be huge! It was the perfect meeting of the Beatles and Black Sabbath.”
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony used to be a drunken, freewheeling event that would stretch to all hours of the night, today it is an arena rock spectacle stunning moments that won’t soon be forgotten.
“They spoke the truth, and people listened,” presenter Michael Stipe said. “This was not just pop music.”
Once Grohl and Novoselic sat down to discuss the whirlwind week they’ve been having, no time was wasted mentioning their fallen frontman, Kurt Cobain.
“Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” isn’t the same without Tom Petty, though.
She’s jammed with the Foo Fighters, and produced Pat Smear’s ex-band, so it makes sense.
