Metallica unveiled their new track “The Lords of Summer,” in front of an excited Colombian crowd last night marking their first new music since 2008′s Death Magnetic.
“For all those that didn’t get to see Kill ‘Em All, Master of Puppets, we have all those props and there’s a story line to give it longer legs so it’s just not a concert footage film.”
Metallica will peel off the music from their forthcoming 3-D feature film, Metallica Through The Never, and release it as a stand-alone two disc set on September 24, just days before the movie hits IMAX theaters nationwide.
The world’s largest comic book and entertainment convention will receive a healthy dose of hard rock in the form of advance film clips and a live performance at a secret location.
The ambitious new movie blends concert footage of the heavy metal heroes with a narrative story starring actor Dane DeHaan as a Metallica roadie on a mission.
