Steven Tyler, P!nk, Lady Gaga, Sara Bareilles, Zac Brown, Miranda Lambert, Miguel and Alicia Keys were among the many artists who paid tribute last night to one of the greatest songwriters of popular music.
The Nauts grew out of a casual studio jam session with the two artists alongside guitarist Charlie Sexton, his brother Will Sexton and drummer Brady Blade.
This week’s episode of HBO’s True Blood was titled “Everybody Wants To Rule The World,” so fans figured that the song of that name would be running during the show’s end credits. And that’s what happened: except that it wasn’t the familiar Tears For Fears version.
Dylan has often referenced Joe Strummer and The Clash as a huge influence, and he wears it proudly on his sleeve on the new Wallflowers single, “Reboot The Mission.” With a piano driven rocksteady beat, the song wouldn’t sound out of place on Combat Rock.
