To celebrate the release of their latest album, ‘Mechanical Bull,’ Kings of Leon are hitting the road.
The last few months of the year – known in the music industry as “fourth quarter,” or “Q4″ if you’ve into brevity- is when a number of superstar acts release their new albums, in anticipation of the all-important Christmas buying season. Here’s a few releases by legendary artists, as well as a couple who are on their way towards that status.

Kings of Leon and Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead and Furthur will headline the Forever Festival, which launches Aug. 4 and will run through Aug. 11.
Kings of Leon will bring in former SNL star Fred Armisen to direct their August 9 webcast from Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London.
“Supersoaker” is the first single from the band’s forthcoming album, ‘Mechanical Bull.’ It will be the first Kings of Leon studio effort since 2010 release, ‘Come Around Sundown.’
“These four headlining artists are willing to play for free because they believe this generation wants to see the end of extreme poverty,” said Hugh Evans, cofounder and CEO of Global Poverty Project.
On July 17, Kings of Leon will finally deliver new music to a patient fan base in the form of “Supersoaker,” the first single for their upcoming album ‘Mechanical Bull’ out September 24.
Kings of Leon, Jackson Browne and the Flaming Lips are teaming up to headline a benefit concert to aid those affected by the string of tornadoes that struck Oklahoma last month.
