Fans in Sweden were treated to Europe’s only Autobiography book signing event, with over 500 fans from around the world lining up (some for more than 30 hours) for the author to pen his signature in a copy.
American demand for Morrissey’s recently published ‘Autobiography’ was so big that plans were quickly arranged for it to be released here. But it seems that something’s missing.
Under the heading “The World Won’t Listen” (cribbed from the title of a 1987 Smiths compilation album), first in his sights is Melissa Bachman, who recently sparked outrage after posting a photo with a male lion she killed on a hunt in South Africa.
In an interview with Brooklyn Vegan, Marr talked about the likelihood of putting pen to paper and telling his side of the Smiths storied history. Turns out it’s pretty much a done deal.
“He has been there all of my life. He will always be pressed to my heart. Thank God for those, like Lou, who move within their own laws, otherwise imagine how dull the world would be.”
However (and this is a big however), Autobiography will see the light of day in the U.K. and Europe on October 17. Whatever this content disagreement was, it apparently was not enough to keep the book off the shelves in Moz’s native continent.
After suffering a case of severe food poisoning, Morrissey has been forced to cancel two shows in Peru as well as postpone a string of concert dates in Chile that were scheduled to kick off a South American tour.
Despite a U.S. tour that was cut short by health issues, Morrissey’s triumphant show at Hollywood High School in L.A. was captured for the singer’s first official concert film in nine years.
