“If you picture those days [ the ’60s], most white artists just stood there and played. Elvis Presley was an exception, Mick Jagger and The Rolling Stones were an exception. But most white artists stood there and performed and that was fine. Most of the black artists, they were real performers, very exciting, and The Rascals performed like a black band. They were the first ‘blue-eyed soul’ band, which was very influential to us.”
Former Police guitarist Andy Summers will premiere a documentary at the New York Documentary Festival on November 9th. Titled “Can’t Stand Losing You,” the film is based on Summers’ 2006 autobiography “One Train Later: A Memoir” and will take an in-depth look into the Police from the ’70s, ’80s and their reunion tour from 2007-2008.
“It’s got new chapters bringing everything up to date including my battle with lymphoma.”
While Brian Wilson has stated that he’d like to make another album and continue touring with the Beach Boys’ reunion lineup, it seems that’s not really in the cards for the family band.
