2.) Munchery

Picture this: It’s Thursday night and you’ve just gotten home to an empty table. You need to figure out what to eat. In comes the new app Munchery. With this app, you open it up and a plethora of delicious and healthy full dinner or lunch options show up from which you can order. Unlike some other apps, you do need to plan a little in advance though. For example, the best way to use the app is to order what you want the day before and by the next day you’ll have your dinner ready to go when you get home. And, we’re not talking about fast food here. Healthy, and tasty food is what you can expect. Genius.

3.) Postmates

Ever wanted something delivered from a restaurant that doesn’t offer delivery? Well, that’s why Postmates was created. Imagine wanting to order from restaurant in the city and actually being able to get your favorite sushi from Katsuya or your favorite sandwich from Wexler’s Deli in Downtown LA. All you have to do is download the app, punch in the restaurant you want food from and it will recognize it. The app is relatively new so while some restaurants have existing menus to help you, many don’t. In that case, simply type in what you want, press “Add to Cart” and then “Check Out” and a screen will show you how much your item(s) add up to be, the delivery fee and that’s that. The delivery fee’s are very reasonable too. Usually around $5 with the option to tip on top. Remember all those rude delivery men who would take 2 hours to deliver something? You’ll have to forget about that because these “Postmates” are as friendly as it gets and are incredibly accommodating and on time too. It’s easily one of the best apps that’s come out recently.

4.) HBO Now

These days, everyone is about subscription based services, right? HBO offers a ton of terrific shows ranging from Ballers, True Detective, and Girls to Game of Thrones and Silicon Valley. If you’re the type that would rather skip the expensive Time Warner Cable subscription based service, simply sign up for HBO Now and you’ll have HBO shows at your disposal. The app does require a monthly fee of course to access the content, but it sure beats having to pay for Time Warner just to have to also pay for HBO, right?

5.) VSCO Cam
Download: iPhone & Android

Sure, there’s Instagram and hundreds of other photo apps out there, but VSCO Cam is something of an anomaly which deviates from the standard photo program. Why? Well, it’s one of the most interesting and innovative photo apps out there because it offers effects for both taking photos and editing them. Adding the control over your photos is what has drawn millions to embrace this app.

6.) Yeti
Download: iPhone

Think of Yeti as the Snapchat for colleges. But, you don’t need to be in college just to take a peek and see interesting things happening. Essentially it embraces the same functionality, but instead of following direct users, you get to sneak or peek into different college individuals’ posts. And, many aren’t the type you’re going to find on Snapchat because of Snapchat’s strict guidelines. But, that’s what makes it so interesting!

7.) Pop The Lock
Download: iPhone

Sure, it seems like a simple idea, but this game has become one of the most popular games on the iPhone. The free app lets you play through increasingly tougher levels as you try and unlock a padlock. Seems kind of stupid right? Wrong. It’s REALLY addictive. It’s mainly just about having good reflexes and good timing. Try it out – you won’t be disappointed.

8.) Layout For Instagram
Download: iPhone & Android

We’ve seen plenty of apps that attempt to let you make your photos into a collage, but why not just skip that extra step and use the official Instagram version of it? Layout from Instagram allows you to put your photos in an array of different types of one-of-a-kind layouts that make your photos look terrific! Choose photos from your library or use the built in photo booth to take an array of photos at that exact moment. Pick your favorite layout and then post.

9.) VHS Camcorder
Download: iPhone

Okay, we all know there are way too many camera apps around, but this one (available only on iPhone for now) is quite different. Let’s take it back a few years and film your favorite moments as if they were taken on a VHS Camcorder. By turning your iPhone into a 90’s video camera complete with the timestamp, not so great audio quality and all of the other fantastic (or not so fantastic) qualities of the 90’s video recording distortions, it adds a cool factor. You can even change the date on the timestamp so it makes it more realistic.

10.) Recently
Download: iPhone

With literally every app out there dedicated to keeping your photos online, Recently is changing things up. The app turns your camera roll, lets you curate your 100 most recent photos, and then helps you turn them into a beautiful magazine that gets shipped to you in print. If you’ve seen some of the cooler looking magazines like Cereal or Kinfolk, your photo book will look exactly like that. And, we think that’s pretty cool. It costs $8.99/mo but you are getting a product of your photos printed in hi-resolution.

11.) Periscope
Download: iPhone & Android

As of late, Periscope has taken the world by storm. Celebrities and even us regular folk have become addicted by the service. The app lets you broadcast live video to literally anyone in the world. What’s more is that it lets you watch others. Simply follow your friends, celebrities, and others to see a glimpse into their world. The app doesn’t just turn itself on either. The person has to actually volunteer to broadcast and then their followers can see what they’re doing. Everyone from Ellen Degeneres to your local guitarist down the street are broadcasting. See someone delivering pizza, or riding the streets of Rome. It’s become a major hit.
