Santa Monica fave Blue Plate Oysterette offered a breath of fresh salty air when it opened on W. 3rd St. last year. While the seafood specialist features an extensive menu of water-dwelling delights, their “Oyster Hour” menu is short but definitely sweet. Sure, there’s only one food option, the titular oyster, but they’re only a buck a piece! Discounted beer, wine and sangria make this pearl of a deal even sweeter.

There are few better places to celebrate the end of the work day than the patio at Goldie’s, especially since several food options are offered for half price. While their local and sustainable eats are always solid, the drinks at Goldie’s are the definite standouts. During happy hour you can save $4 on all cocktails including the Golden Girl (spiced tequila, passion fruit, agave, and lime meringue) and the Mr. Rogers (brown butter bourbon, maple, and lemon) which are as enjoyable to order as they are to drink.

Happy Hour: Daily 5pm-7pm

An O.G. of the W. 3rd foodie explosion, A.O.C. is as popular as ever in its new digs west of La Cienega. If you’re hesitant about splurging on the restaurant’s pricey bites, the happy hour menu is a great way to get a taste of what A.O.C. has to offer. All three focaccia selections are worth the $10 price of admission (with a slight edge going to the one topped with house-made lamb bacon). Add on a portion of perfectly spiced Spanish fried chicken (also $10) and you’ve yourself a meal. Another $10 will get yourself a specialty cocktail but craft beer fans may want to check out A.O.C.’s small but well chosen draft selection which is offered for only $4 a glass during happy hour.
