Guns N’ Roses

This year, Coachella is all about reunions. It has been over two decades since the original line up arguably one of the greatest bands in the history of rock and roll took stage. This year, Guns N’ Roses is reuniting with Slash, Axl Rose and Duff McKagan taking the stage together, but not with the full original line-up as many fans had not so secretly hoped for. Izzy Stradlin recently announced that he was not participating in the reunion tour and drummer, Steven Adler has been unusually quiet since the Coachella announcement was made. Possible replacements for the two: former GNR guitarist and drummer, Gilby Clarke and drummer, Matt Sorum.

LCD Soundsystem

GNR aren’t the only act reuniting this year for Coachella, as James Murphy announced he is bringing LCD Soundsystem back together at this year’s festival as they prepare for the upcoming release of a studio album later this year. Five years ago, LCD Soundsystem performed a farewell concert at Madison Square Garden as chronicled in the documentary Shut Up and Play the Hits and it was captured on the live album, The Long Goodbye.

Ice Cube

While no official announcement has been made, there is a very good chance Coachella attendees will be treated to an N.W.A. reunion during Ice Cube’s performance. The rapper went on record to say, “I’m gonna try to bring the members of N.W.A. together. Give everybody a little history lesson on Ice Cube and N.W.A., West Side Connection, everything I’ve been doing over the years.” While no one knows for sure if this will happen, it sure will be amazing if it does.

But we all know the real magic happens throughout the festival when the surprise guest performances pop-up on stage. Since Coachella is a serious celeb magnet there is no telling who perform. The buzz on the street is getting louder surrounding a possible impromptu performance by Taylor Swift considering It’s a given she’ll be there since her BF, Calvin Harris is headlining Sunday night.
