Watch The “Lost Auditions” For The Postal Service, Funny Or Die Style

View Comments

Founded by Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard and producer Jimmy Tamborello along with Jenny Lewis of Rilo Kiley, The Postal Service originally formed in 2002 and released only one studio album, 2003’s Give Up, before, well giving up.

However, it was recently announced that The Postal Service will reissue Give Up: Deluxe 10th Anniversary Edition on April 9 as well as reuniting for a world tour that includes a stop at Coachella.

So now that The Postal Service is back, Funny or Die.com felt the need to share a little bit of the band’s history, releasing footage that they claim “before today… had never been seen by the public.”

The year is 2002. Jimmy Tamborello is sitting with “Dave” from Sub Pop, and together they are auditioning musicians for a new band named The Postal Service.

With cameos by everyone from Weird Al Yankovic to Tom DeLonge to Moby, plus many more, this latest video of Funny or Die delivers! Take a look at the video, and make sure you vote.
